That is a super treat that Brent introduced me to. I got a box of Russell Stover dark chocolates for Christmas. I just opened them and they are all beautiful and delicious still. It took this long for them to sound good to me after so many other holiday sweets and then being sick.
Yes, Coco Dulce is amazing, and we also have Cero's Chocolates. Their truffles are to die for. You MUST go there when you come to Wichita, and call me!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08644583845501512927noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-37669247.post-72004851145760779742009-02-09T14:00:00.000-06:002009-02-09T14:00:00.000-06:00I love sweet and salty. The chili pepper one is great (if you like that sort of thing).
There's an excellent choclate shop in Wichita (Coco Dulce I think) that makes a handmade sea salt caramel chocolate and it is awesome! I like the salty/sweet combo, but then again I used to chase a brownie with potato chips for a similar effect ;)Roach Mommahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15898409555880346453noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-37669247.post-72924850376296008362009-02-08T11:50:00.000-06:002009-02-08T11:50:00.000-06:00I haven't tried the Choxie chocolates, (and now I ...I haven't tried the Choxie chocolates, (and now I probably won't,) but I did watch a room full of people try some of the sea salt caramels, and it was hilarious. No one was a big fan, other than one woman who already knew she liked them, and everyone else sort of scraped the salt off the top and gingerly ate the rest of the candy. I did not try one.Trinkethttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17437262396194914845noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-37669247.post-65384595099599981682009-02-08T08:10:00.000-06:002009-02-08T08:10:00.000-06:00So...I wasn't that impressed either. I thought the flavor with all the chocolates was good but not enough to overcome the funky grainy texture of the caramel itself.
I tried making caramels for my Christmas boxes this year but they didn't turn out. I'm going to try again next year and you'll definitely be on my nice list!In the Mixhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06362119348254959159noreply@blogger.com
