We're back from the cabin. It was a lovely week. This week we're back to work though, in every sense. No more lounging about, eating junk and letting other people take care of Anna. There's laundry up to my ears, a house to pick up, things to put away, and inservices to go to. I LOVE my job, but the first month back is a kick in the pants.
My favorite quote from the trip comes from my Dad, talking to us about how Mom was worried because we kids got there a bit later than she expected: "I don't worry, worry is not a productive emotion." Hmmm, where DO I get my attitudes about the world?
We read the last Harry Potter out loud together, driving Mom crazy in the process. But we finished, and I'd be happy to discuss it with anyone, but I don't feel like I can here-because of the spoiler issue. So just talk to me sometime.
One interesting question from the books though--What would your Patronus be? Mine, obviously, would be a flamingo. Quite intimidating. AND-the subject of much debate during the reading aloud-What is the proper pronunciation of the word Patronus?

short a, long o, short u...glad you had a nice time!
Matthew said there wasn't actually debate, it was just that I mispronounced it and no one corrected me, so then he pronounced it my way too, as a statement. He's always getting corrected. Mllr-what's your patronus?
A lion!
Mom decided first that hers would be a robin. Then she thought that wouldn't be very intimidating. So then she decided it would be some sort of wildflower. Also not very intimidating. So then she settled on the idea of a frog.
Dad is still sticking with Falstaff.
a pronghorn unless I was feeling super-confident-fashionable with a funky scarf on my head and then it would be a skunk. (I know I'm not really a legitimate Potter fan so if I'm not playing right, just disregard).
I would be glad to talk with you about it in about 2 years when the movie comes out.
Actually I have decided that I am going to read the books and my goal is to get them all read before the final movie is released.
btw, My patronus is a Giraffe.
Linda, I thought you would have gone for some fantastic fish.
I think my patronus would be a jaguar.
Jeepers. I didn't even think of a fish because it seems like a patronus is our of water... that opens up a new world. Yeah... a manta ray would kick some booty. Thanks. Definitely a manta ray.
Definitely a pig.
