Brussels Sprouts

Thursday night I made Roasted Salmon with Brussels Sprouts.

I thought it was all pretty good, but something was a little bitter in the sprouts. The instructions told me to "trim" them, but I didn't know what that meant exactly, so maybe that's what was bitter.
Any help?

i grew up eating brussell sprouts, and they are a little bitter at times. are they in season? i'm guessing not, so that might be the problem.

I would agree with French girl on the season issue. It all looks really yummy!

That looks so tasty. I love salmon and Brent won't eat it, so I only eat it when I'm invited to my mom's house for it. I also love brussell sprouts and agree that they are bitter at times.

I've always thought brussell sprouts were a little bitter, but I've never to cook them myself.
