Done!

I just finished hanging the curtains in the bedroom. It's now all done! I wouldn't have made it before they got home, but the plane was delayed out of Medford, so I have another couple of hours to vacuum, sweep, dust, etc. I'm excited to see them, and I hope MJL likes his new bedroom! I think it's perfect.

I'll repost the before picture

And the after from the same angle

Close up of the curtains--with the light coming in from behind you can't really see the colors...but you can see how I matched the plaid! I love these.
And I even made a little light switch cover! You can see the curtain fabric better here. I think shadows are making it look lumpy, it looks better in real life to me...or maybe it's that you don't look at it so closely when just walking into the room and flipping on the light. There are a couple of things left to do. We have a bed coming from Overstock, so we won't be sleeping on mattresses on the floor anymore, and we've got to figure out a better system for CD storage. But mostly, it's all done! I can't believe how much I was able to do this week. I won't list it...then you'll know I'm crazy. I did rest some too! I read three books and tried to get to bed before 11:00 on all school nights. I even watched a couple of hours of TV!

Betsy, it looks beautiful! Did you move that enormous bed all by yourself? You are insane, but talented, so I guess it all works out.

I love it!! I'm so glad I got to help a little bit! When did the armoire get delivered? And is the bookshelf you talked about in the last post the one that we moved downstairs on Saturday? Oh, and I like Matt's dressed against the wall better than the way I suggested.

You're amazing! Looks great. Your hubby is blessed to have such a fleissig wife. :) Our mattress was on the floor (with no box spring even) just until before Christmas when Shelby put together a frame. It's not nearly as chilly with it up that bit higher!

Susan--Thanks! The first time I moved the bed by myself. The second time Katrina suggested that we move it while she was there so that I'd have help.

trinket--I'm glad you like it! The armoire came yesterday at 3:00 It was a different one I carried upstairs--matching to the one that was already in there. I think it was heavier than the one we moved. I felt really crazy moving it by myself, but it was also really fun.

melanie--Thanks! I looked up fleissig-I'll have to incorporate it into my vocabulary. Such a useful word! I didn't even think about it being warmer with the bed off of the floor, Matthew'll be happy. He's always cold.

Wow - great job! I'm very impressed. We are in the process of remodelling our bedroom. Keenan finished most of the painting a couple of weeks ago. Now it'll be a wait until all the furniture is ready. I'm the designer and Keenan's the carpenter! I'll post pic's when we're done (someday)! :)

You are so very clever! Very nice!
You accomplish more in a week than I do all year, I think.

WOW!!! You never cease to amaze me. That looks incredible. I can just see you carrying that bookcase up the stairs all by your lonesome. And the fervent look in your eyes. . .

rm--Thanks. I can't wait to see your pictures. What fun that would be to do together.

brandy--They did like it. Anna didn't even want to give me a hug when she got home, she ran right by me to look at "Mama's yellow walls". I made her come back and hug me first, which she did for a long time.

mllr--Have you ever had a whole week with no one to take care of? I'll bet you could do lots too. Only maybe normal people, when given the chance to do WHATEVER they want in the world, don't choose working.

Q--I thought of you while I was carrying. I knew you'd get a kick out of it.

Great curtains! It's so fun to see your vision come to life, isn't it?
