I wanted to make it to scale, and it's close. The original now weighs 20 lbs and is 35" around. To scale, it should be 17.5" around and 2.5 lbs. It's the right size, but a little light.
That's two challenges so far this year. I really like entering them. The next one is a dollar store challenge, I haven't read the specifics yet, but hopefully I'll have an idea for that one too.
In other news, our bed rails arrived today and we put the bed up. We've never slept in a bed in this house before, I think it'll be fun. It's awfully pretty, I'm glad I got the one I've been wanting for so long. I'll post pictures when I get it all prettied up.

I had no idea blogs could be such a learning experience--dare I ask where your town found a 20 lb hairball????
Fascinating choice for a representation of your home town. Looks neat.
m-Inside a cow at one of the packing plants. They found it when I was in High School, I think. I love it.
itm--I'm in love with it, it's such a cuddly little hairball. What would you choose to represent GC?
hmm... how do you craft wind?
Maybe that's why my brain chose the hairball right off. The subconscious eliminated anything tricky.
Such a work of art and the envy of any cat. Hope you don't mind me saving-to-file
I remember reading about the hairball in Bob Getz' column...He imagined miles of cars coming to see it. Luckily, we missed the crowd at the museum. It looks great!
how funny. i'll have to send you a pic of lilian in the hat you made...thanks again for that.
In Novemeber a 10 pound hairball was taken out of a teenagers stomach after she complained of pain and weight loss, so this could happen to you too if you enjoy munching on your tresses.
mllr--eww!
I'm literally speechless! Takes my breath away!
