Really, Pottery Barn?

Does Pottery Barn have a sense of humor?

Or is this real?

Book Bundle

"Avid readers know that a stack of books can be a comforting sight. We’ve taken authentic vintage books and turned them into art objects by removing their covers and binding them together in sets of four. Neutral in color with deckled and uneven pages, they bring relaxed style to a bookcase, mantel or side table.
  • Approximately 8.5" wide x 6" deep x 4.5" high
  • Each bundle features four real books with covers removed so that they are all paper.
  • Pages are glued shut and books are tied together with twine.
  • Purely decorative; contents and titles are not important.
  • Catalog / Internet only."

You forgot to include the funniest thing about Pottery Barn...the price!

I was gonna say--for 40 bucks, I could rip and glue and tie bundles of books to sell! Wow!

It's like a dystopia novel come to life.

And what kind of "avid reader" wants glued together, coverless books hanging around? Pottery Barn has never been in my budget, but now they'll feel the wrath of my boycott. :)

Yes Betsy--I thought the use of the term "avid reader" in the advertisement particularly humorous.
