The improbable dream

Sometimes I daydream about having a little craft shop on Main Street. We'd have lots and lots of classes, and book clubs, and crafting sessions, and it would be fun. I even have a name picked out and other such ideas.

I know this is silly. As demonstrated by the Adult Tap Class (I was so excited to see who else would sign up! Answer: No one but me), what I think would be fun does not necessarily extend to the community at large. And I don't know anything about running a business, and I love my current job, and, and, and...

But it's my fun daydream.

What's yours?

Someday when I move back to Downs and buy the bridal store, you can have half and make a craft shop! And I would totally take tap dancing with you!!!

Sounds like a fun shop to me, Betsy!

My dream...right now all I can think of is a week of uninterrupted sleep at night...

I want to open a children's museum and resource center with music and art classes and where community members could share their talents with others.

I love your dream! Mine...a scrapbook store that was so successful I barely had to work there...just pay other people to do all the work while I scrapbook all day and night and pick out new papers and products to sell. And there would be a Olive Garden next door. :-)

Hmm...? It would have to be a bakery for me or a chocolate shop!

I think opening a craft shop would suit you perfectly.

Currently, and this just could be a phase I'm in, I dream of making all kinds of things on my sewing machine and having an online store to sell them on. I also would love to have a greenhouse and make things grow from seed and then sell the plants.

I want to open a coffee shop - exactly like the one in Dream for an Insomniac - and have open mic nights and poetry readings and folk singers and big comfy couches. And I want it to be a book store too, and a writer's group. And a bakery.

I think the craft store sounds delightful. You can charge a "club" fee and people could store their craft projects there. And when you realize that you don't have what you need you just wander into the store to pick up supplies.

My daydreams always involve reading my poetry from published volumes.

I want to have a small private dance and yoga studio in my home. It's totally doable, we just have save money fix up a space, and I have to become certified in Yoga. I can charge rich people a lot for 90 minutes of private yoga!
