Paint with Water books?
I remember painting and painting at the kitchen table, being with Mom while she made bread, or soup, or dinner, but staying out of her hair. At least, out of her hair until the inevitable spill of the plastic tub that held the water, at which point we'd be *deep breath* banished for a while.
I finally found one at Goodwill a month or so ago, but I can't find them at Wal-Mart, Target, Dillons, or Walgreens. Where'd they go?

I used to love those too. The cleaner, neater version is those markers that you "draw" with and make the lines underneath appear. My daughter just asked me for a pad of that at an airport shop and I was like "You're 11--you can draw for yourself now." There's something about making something appear from nothing that's so appealing . . .
Paint and Water! Oh man. I have very odd memories of watching hours of NBA and painting with those yellow butter tubs full of water. And, always, always, spilling them everywhere.
I do think Crayola makes a version of paint with water now. Jacob painted one at a friends house one time, and asked us to buy some when we got home. Heath's response was the same as Claire's - you can draw or paint for yourself, I'm not buying something for you to just paint water over. And Jacob was only 4 or 5 at the time, not 11. :-) But they are fun if you don't mind spending money on them.

The Color Wonder stuff is $12.00! Paint with Water books were $1. *sigh*
You can find them on Amazon. I've been looking for them since finding one in an old box of books this summer, much to Jemma's delight, but haven't found any at Target, Walmart, etc.
I know, but I didn't want to get them online. No clearance on Amazon. Looks like that's my only choice though.
