I'm looking for inspiration for a Christmas gift project.

What are your favorite inspiring/funny/thoughtful quotes?  Fewer words are probably better.

And do you have any good fonts to recommend?

I love this quote, but it's hard.  Just because I like something doesn't mean that my recipient will like it.  Maybe they would feel all yelled at or something instead of inspired.  So share some quotes with me because hey-maybe it's for you!  And then you'll be more likely to get something that you would enjoy.  ;)

Gasp! Quote art! I want it all! I have about a million, zillion, trillion favorite quotes (which I will send to you via email), but a good place to start for inspiration might be here: There's a whole line of greeting cards called "Quotables" and they have an excellent selection.

When you are sorrowful look again in your heart, and you shall see that in truth you are weeping for that which has been your delight. -- Kahlil Gibran (This isn't necessarily a happy quote, but it helps me feel better when people die. I was talking to a resident the other day about an old couple we took care of in the ER, and the family took the husband home so he could die there with his family, they had been married for at least a million years. She said it was so sad, but I was like, yes, but think of how wonderful this long marriage and big family is. If it hadn't been so wonderful, it wouldn't be sad.)

Train up a child in the way he should go,
And when he is old he will not depart from it.
---Proverbs 22:6 (Have this on Ben's wall.)

The function of music is to release us from the tyrant of conscience thought. (Sorry. I couldn't find anyone to attribute this to.)

Kiss someone you love today. (Not a quote exactly but good stuff.)

I like living. I have sometimes been wildly, despairingly, acutely miserable, racked with sorrow, but through it all I still know quite certainly that just to be alive is a grand thing. -Agatha Christie
(Not short, but a great quote)

Shoot. That first quote should read tyranny not tyrant.

"Perfection is our goal, excellence will be tolerated." -Yahl, J. (from HS basketball days)

When you were born,
you cried and the world rejoiced.
Live your life in such a way that when you die,
the world cries and
you rejoice.
-Native American saying-

"Friendship is unnecessary, like philosophy, like art... It has no survival value; rather it is one of those things that give value to survival."
- C. S. Lewis

life is not measured by the number of breaths you take, but the moments that take your breath away
