Sunday Morning

On Sunday I woke up early and had my coffee on the balcony, watching and listening to the ocean while Matthew slept. It was just as good as I thought it would be.

Then we went for a morning walk on the beach. I wore my super scarf wrapped around my head because it was a little chilly. I looked ridiculous and Matthew laughed at me, but I was warm and my hair was out of my face and sometimes it's fun to be ridiculous.

After our walk we went up to have breakfast, which was delicious. We chatted for a while with the other guests, a mother and daughter from Michigan who were scoping grad schools, and the owners, HS sweethearts married 42 years.
Then we went down to the harbor and walked all along the docks looking at the boats. That was really fun. The coolest boat we saw was The Bushwacker. That's it behind Matthew.
Here I am standing on the docks (sometimes Heidi Klum stands like this on Project Runway. Since she's a famous supermodel, I figure she knows how to stand in pictures. I thought I'd try it out. I may just look silly.)

On the end of one of the docks there was a group of seagulls.

One of the seagulls kept honking at the rest, and making them fly away. He's honking in both of these pictures, can you find him?

Eventually he was all alone.

He looked around, and then followed the gaggle of gulls to the other side of the dock.

Is there a lesson in that?

After dock-walking we went to Mass at Star of the Sea Catholic Church. I love going to Mass in different places, the same and different all at once. It was really nice to go together. The stained glass in the church was really neat, it was the ocean and the rocks and a few stars. I really liked it. (Wonder why "Star of the Sea"? Here's an answer)

It was a great morning.

I am really jealous of your beach-side B&B experience! I think scenes like that would be very inspirational and spur a storm of writing. Except for the seagulls. Seagulls are a weird, semi-predatory bird and give me the heebies.

I'd recommend it! (not too expensive either, really!)

I used to stand like that when I worked in the Derby Dungeon at K-State. It was just more comfortable on the back. I am sure that is why the supermodel stands that way.
